Traumatic dental injuries in the primary dentition and sequelae in the permanent dentition: a 7-year retrospective study

Objective: Traumatic dental injuries (TDIs) affect the aesthetics and function of primary teeth can causesequelae in their permanent successors. This study assessed distribution TDIs sequelae primarydentition respective dentition children treated at Dental Trauma Centre Brazil.Material Methods: cross-sectional was conducted by collecting data from 256 recordsover 7 years. Descriptive statistical analyses Fisher exact test were used (p=0.05). Results: Sixty-twopatients presented with trauma deciduous teeth. observed mostly boys (64.50%) inthe 2 to 4-year age group (44.10%); most occurred fall child’s own height (40.30%) andat home (71.20%). The common type subluxation (22.90%). prevalent clinicaland radiographic mobility (45.60%) periapical lesion (31.80%), respectively. Regarding thepermanent dentition, frequent sequela hypomineralization (33.30%). Conclusion: According tothis study, made up 29.24% all cases Program. majortype subluxation, both dentitions.
